Purpose
The purpose of this Internet Usage Policy is to establish guidelines for the acceptable use of the internet by employees of Ruxley Integrated Global Services Limited. This policy aims to protect the company’s resources, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and promote a safe and productive work environment.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third-party service providers who have access to Ruxley Integrated Global Services Limited’s internet resources, including but not limited to company-owned devices, networks, and software.
Policy Statement “Ruxley encourages the responsible use of the internet for work-related purposes. However, employees must adhere to the guidelines outlined in this policy to ensure that internet usage aligns with the company’s goals and values.”
Acceptable Use
- Work-Related Activities: Employees are permitted to use the internet for work-related tasks, including research, communication, and accessing job-related resources.
- Personal Use: Limited personal use of the internet is allowed during breaks or outside of work hours, provided it does not interfere with work responsibilities or violate this policy.
Prohibited Use
Employees are prohibited from using the internet for the following activities:
- Illegal Activities: Accessing, downloading, or distributing illegal content, including pirated software, copyrighted materials, or any other unlawful activities.
- Inappropriate Content: Viewing, sharing, or distributing material that is obscene, offensive, or discriminatory, including hate speech, pornography, or any content that could be considered harassment.
- Excessive Personal Use: Engaging in excessive personal browsing, social media use, or streaming during work hours that may affect productivity.
- Unauthorized Access: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any systems, networks, or data, including bypassing security protocols or accessing confidential information without permission.
- Malicious Activities: Intentionally spreading malware, viruses, or engaging in phishing schemes.
Security and Privacy
- Data Protection: Employees must adhere to Ruxley’s data protection policies when accessing and sharing information online. Personal information should not be shared without proper authorization.
- Secure Connections: Employees are encouraged to use secure connections (VPN) when accessing the internet remotely, particularly when using public networks.
Monitoring and Enforcement
Ruxley reserves the right to monitor internet usage to ensure compliance with this policy. Employees should have no expectation of privacy when using company-owned devices or networks. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Reporting Violations
Employees are encouraged to report any violations of this policy to their supervisor or the HR department. Reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.
Training and Awareness
Ruxley will provide training and resources to employees to promote awareness of responsible internet use and compliance with this policy.
Policy Review
This Internet Usage Policy will be reviewed annually or as needed to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Updates will be communicated to all employees.
